Lin Dan showed why he still is considered as the best badminton player as he sent the legendary Taufik Hidayat crashing out of the All England Championships at the quarterfinal stage.
Such was his domination that he led 9-0 in the second stage, winning points at his fancy as he sent Taufik scurrying all over the court.
But after the match, in one of his rare interviews Lin Dan paid tribute to Taufik, saying that when the Indonesian retires it will be a big loss to badminton. ( see end video for translation)
On the other hand Taufik said that he was happy the youngsters of Indonesia, Simon, Rumbaka, Tommy are making progress and hoped that PBSI will not ask him to play in the Thomas Cup this May as it will be his seventh.
