Accountability to sponsors and fulfilling the key performance index is something that national sports associations should set as priority in order to achieve success.
In outlining this, Tun Ahmad Sarji, who is the Chairman of Professional Golf Malaysia as well as Chef De Mission of the Malaysian Contingent to the 2012 London Olympics also said that being hands on was a vital ingredient for sports leaders.
"Many a time we see Presidents of NSA's being in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, in the centre of limelight for matters that are not beneficial for sports," he said during the PGM CCM Impiana Masters press conference at the Menara PGM.
"We need to have personalities who serve sports not for self interest.
" I have made this very clear in PGM and will not hesitate to sack any of my officers should there be an abuse of sponsorship money.
" One has to understand that we are guardians of the money and will have to carry out programs as laid out when we entice the sponsors to support our events.
